Dr. Aditya Varma — Founder
Biography
About Dr. Aditya Varma
Dr. Aditya Varma is the Founder and Chairman of iAdmit. He started the company in 2009 on an observation that looks obvious now and did not then: India had a deep bench of world-class institutes and almost no way for a working professional to study at one without leaving their job.
The first years were spent on the unglamorous problem — persuading institute academic councils that a working-professional cohort, delivered partly online, could hold the same standard as a residential batch. That meant arguing about assessment design and contact hours rather than about marketing, and it set the pattern the company still follows: the institute owns the academics, iAdmit owns admissions, delivery and the learner relationship.
Before founding iAdmit he spent close to two decades across education and enterprise sales, which is where his conviction about counselling came from. He has repeatedly told counselling teams that talking a candidate out of the wrong programme is worth more than the enrolment, on the straightforward commercial logic that a professional who finishes tells five colleagues and a professional who drops out tells fifty.
He holds a PhD in Management and has spent more than three decades in the sector. He chairs the board of iAdmit Institute of Technology Management and Research Limited, which listed on the NSE and BSE in 2025, and remains closely involved in institute partnerships — the part of the business he has never delegated.
In their words
“We were never in the business of selling courses. We are in the business of getting a thirty-four-year-old with a mortgage and two children through an IIM programme without their job or their family falling apart. Everything else is logistics.”
Founded iAdmit in 2009 and built it into India's first-mover online higher education company. PhD in Management, with over three decades across education and enterprise sales.
